Note-Taking: Plain Text vs Rich Formats
Plain text note-taking (Markdown-based tools) is gaining adoption for a practical reason: longevity. Your notes from 2010 are still readable if they're in plain text. Notes in proprietary formats depend on the continued existence of the software company.
